Park Locking Consultation
Following the current consultation on whether parks can be locked, we want to reassure you that Fortune Street Park remains one of the few parks in Islington that continues to be locked and unlocked. This is thanks to the dedication of our incredible volunteers and the staff at Giddy Up Café, who carry out this responsibility 365 days a year. They understand the importance of keeping the park safe, well-maintained and providing much needed respite for our wildlife. We are committed to maintaining the practice and this will continue. We are always looking for new volunteers to help keep it sustainable. If you are interested in getting involved, please reach out using the Contact Us link in the menu.

Join us for Carols in the Fortune Street Park on December 11th, from 5-7PM. Enjoy an evening by the firepit with refreshments, s’mores, and the festive sounds of a live brass quintet from Guildhall. Bring your friends and family for a festive gathering!

Fortune Park wins presitgious Green Flag Award
Some of Islington’s beautiful and well-loved parks have been celebrated in the 2024 Green Flag Awards – with 13 awards for council-run green spaces and five for community spaces.
Cllr Rowena Champion, Islington Council’s Executive Member for Environment, Air Quality, and Transport, said: … “We are working hard to make our parks more accessible, welcoming, and attractive. The Green Flag awards are a fantastic way to recognise the hard work and dedication of the council and community groups; its a win for everyone who volunteers their time.
