About the Park

Fortune Street Park is a lovely small park in EC1 with a playground, greenspaces, places to sit and a cafe. The nearby school and food market make it a favourite with locals and visitors.

Facilities

While Fortune Street Park is the perfect place to lay out a blanket and have a picnic, there is much more to it than just a large patch of grass.
Children will find a carefully tended play area with plenty of toys and there is an edible community garden for anyone who enjoys cooking, from which a plethora of herbs can be picked to take home.
The more green-fingered among its visitors will enjoy the annual bulb-planting schemes, while anyone just visiting London can reap the rewards of all this hard work in the form of glorious displays of flowers come spring.
If you find yourself in need of refreshments while visiting the park, then you’ll be well catered for thanks to the Giddy Up coffee, which boasts some of London’s best coffee.

Community Edible Garden

We have a small community edible garden – it was one of the first of it's kind in Islington. Come and get involved – plant, water, grow with us, or plant bulbs around the park.
If you would like to learn more or join in ask Pat (if you know him!) or send us an email we'd love to have you.

2024 Park Improvements

As part of our work to make Islington greener and healthier, Islington council made significant improvements to Fortune Street Park. Following consultation with local residents and working with Landscape Architects Davies & White – Warwick Landscaping were appointed for the work, which included:
Relocating the growing garden to a sunnier spot / Refurbishing the play area / Additional planting throughout the park to enhance biodiversity / Additional benches and litter bins.
